SPED Faculty and Students Collaborate With Alaska Teachers

Dr. Karena Cooper-Duffy, assistant professor of special education, and 12 special education students collaborated with teachers in rural Alaska to create adapted materials for children with severe disabilities. Dr. Cooper-Duffy recently traveled to Alaska to deliver materials and to collaborate with Tara Maltby, a WCU distance graduate student teaching in Alaska, on strategies for teaching students with autism.
