Dr. Bobilya publishes “An Investigation of the Connection Between Outdoor Orientation and Thriving”

Andrew BobilyaDr. Andrew Bobilya recently published a paper with Dr. Wally Rude from Ambrose University in Calgary and Dr. Brent Bell from the University of New Hampshire.  The study explored the impact of first-year college student participation in an outdoor orientation program at three different colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada and was published in the latest issue of the Journal of Outdoor Recreation, Education and Leadership (JOREL).

Grube to Receive 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award

Dan GrubeDr. Dan Grube, Department Head of the School of Teaching and Learning has been selected by his alma mater, Lyndon State College in Vermont, to receive the 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award. This honor is designed to recognize an alumni who has achieved excellence in their profession and who has served their state and community. The award will be presented in September at the Alumni Awards event at Lyndon State College.

Alumna named Blue Ridge Community College President

Leatherwood, currently the Vice President of Student Services with Haywood Community College in Clyde, NC has been selected to be the fourth president of Blue Ridge Community College. Leatherwood graduated from WCU with a M.A. in Human Resources and an Ed.D in Educational Leadership.
