Asberg receives national early career award

Dr. Kia Asberg, assistant professor in Psychology, has been given the Early Career Award for Excellence in Violence Research by the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). ABCT is an interdisciplinary organization committed to the advancement of a scientific approach to the understanding and amelioration of problems of the human condition.

Strahan honored with national outstanding professor award

Dr. David Strahan, the Taft B. Botner Distinguished Professor for Middle Grades education, was given the “Outstanding Middle Level Professor” award for 2012 by the National Association of Professors of Middle Level Education (NAPOMLE). Dr. Kim Ruebel, associate dean of the college, was the recipient in 2011.

Retired WCU art professor recognized for lifetime achievement by NCAEA

Perry Kelly, professor emeritus of art at Western Carolina University, was honored Saturday, Nov. 3, with the first Lifetime Achievement award from the North Carolina Art Education Association – an organization he helped found in the mid-1960s. For more information, see the WCU News article.
